The Central Library and Documentation Center of Shiraz University is one of the largest university libraries in the country, thanks to years of continuous efforts that has now flourished and prospered. The history of the establishment of the Central Library and Documentation Center of Shiraz University dates back to the year 1986. Prior to that, this library was part of the Faculty of Sciences library or Mollasadra Library. During those years, the collection of resources related to humanities, social sciences, and educational sciences was separated from other sources and transferred to the Mirza Shirazi Library, which was later renamed to "Central Library and Documentation Center of Shiraz University". Now, with valuable collections of Persian and Latin books, reference books, archives of old and new journals and newspapers, documents and manuscripts, and electronic scientific resources, it is considered as one of the prominent university libraries in the country. The activities for the construction of the Central Library and Documentation Center building began in the late 1960s. In 1966, the Literature and Science Library of Shiraz University was established, and in 1984, the Faculty of Literature along with a part of the Mollasadra Library was transferred to the building constructed on Eram Hill. The total area of the current building of the Central Library and Documentation Center is approximately 11,000 square meters and is designed in four floor.
